Chapter 2 personal reaction and review:
I am really becoming more and more interested within this series, and once again, being a ultra hybrid has its special perks ;) Shinjiro is a very likeable character, he pretty much acts and thinks like a normal teenager guy, while still having that same heroic flare as to when he was little in chapter one. He does think about girls, acts very much like a regular normal guy, but tries to stand up for what's right when it calls for it. Even though when he tries to be heroic, he doesn't really sell it lol. And comes off a bit odd when it all falls flat xD
But when all that is said and done, when seeing him at home, he's very...Well....Withdrawn, almost to the degree of seeming like an outcast. He's slightly more irritated, and vocally aggressive. Of course, this could be of two factors:
1. He's a teenager, teens have been known to be randomly irritated when stressed out about something during their lifetime. We've all been there before.
2. Well, he's not normal. Due to being half Ultra, he's so terribly strong that when simply grabbing or block a attack from a nearly grown adult, he can indirectly crush his attackers limbs effortlessly without even trying. And from this chapter, it clearly shows that due to having all of that, his peers (or mostly everyone around him who witness this events) become frighten to which casts a layer of rejection.
This chapter kinda displays and shows off a Spider-man/Peter-parker type Shinjiro, except Shinjiro experiences and finds his power as more of a burden since he's been going through hardship since he was a small child. And seems to resistant his power to a degree due to the outcomes when using it. A sign that he has yet to understand what he truly is.
Not to give away too much, things become extremely interesting near the very end, can't wait to read chapter 3! Gotta give it up to Chinatown KM that did a great job, mainly Xah and OniGoji (Thanks for bringing this series out in English!)
5/5!
